The shadow of Theodore McCarrick still darkens the halllways and offices of the Roman Curia. Last week, the Pope announced that he had appointed a McCarrick protege, Cardinal Kevin Farrell, to oversee the Vatican’s finances. It came along with the announcement that Rome is virtually bankrupt and will soon be unable to pay the pensions of its staff. Remember, we are not only talking about the pensions of clerics, but those of family men and women who deserve a decent retirement after their time of service to the Church.
Financial Woes
Last October, the Pope told his media empire to tighten its belts: those involved in the Vatican’s internet, radio, newspaper, and TV services were advised to “exercise a bit more discipline with money”. While the Vatican’s hasn’t released a full budget statement for years, its annual deficit is thought to be around 83 million euros (USD 86 million/AUD 133 million).
One can only wonder who much better the Church would have been financially ( and morally) had it not had to pay for the endless Synods and Holy Years, with their logos, marketing videos and gimmicky ‘apps’, and the other countless innovations of this train-wreck of a papacy with its Peronist leader.
The announcement is sure to inflame tension among staff from the Vatican museums, who made a class action complaint against their employer last May. At that time, 49 museum employees “cited the social teaching of the Catholic Church and Francis’ own appeals for employers to respect the dignity of workers in demanding better treatment. Among other things, they demanded better transparency about how employees are able to advance”, a restoration of seniority bonuses and insisted the Vatican follow Italian norms on sick days.” and other gripes.
McCarrick
Perhaps someone should tell them that in order to advance in the Vatican, the selection criteria includes sodomy and sex-offences, with preference given to those who engage in sexual mysticism. Which brings us to Cardinal Farrell. Farrell was, of course, a former member of McCarrick’s household who claimed he knew nothing about McCarrick’s escapades – despite ‘everyone’ who was anyone knowing about McCarrick for decades.

A welcome and much-needed book that will help bishops, priests, pastoral associates, and all church leaders more compassionately minister to the LGBT community. It will also help LGBT Catholics feel more at home in what is, after all, their church.
As Phil Lawler points out, ‘personnel is policy,’ explaining that Farrell has a track record of either ignoring serious abuse or being too dense to notice it. As a member of the Legionaries of Christ, Fr. Farrell was apparently unaware that his spiritual guide was a narcissistic abuser and violator of his vows. That pattern was repeated when he subsequently failed to pick up on McCarrick’s serial abuse of seminarians and other young men.
A Successful Career
Farrell has been moving slowly but surely through the ranks: in 2019, the Pope made him camerlengo, meaning he will be making the arrangements after the pope’s death. He replaced Cardinal Parolin in 2020 as head of the Commission dealing with high-level investments and confidential international matters after the Sloane Avenue property scandal. In 2023, the Pope put Farrell in charge of the Vatican city Supreme Court – even though he has no legal qualifications.
All this smacks of Farrell enjoying the prestige of McCarrick’s mentorship, even down to his role overseeing international investments and other diplomatic matters. For it was McCarrick who once held that position, playing a large part in arranging the secretive Sino-Vatican deal.
The matter of McCarrick and his many crimes has never been dealt with appropriately by the Pope, and Farrell’s continued favour in his eyes point to McCarrick’s ongoing influence in Rome. Such is the power of sex-magick and the other diabolical practices which have smitten the once pristine Bride of Christ with a malignant disorder and created a synodal Ape of the Church.

“And that great Dragon was cast out, that old serpent who is called the devil and Satan who seduceth the whole world and he was cast unto the Earth.” Words taken from The Apocalypse of St John. In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Amen
Today we shall consider how we must serve Mary as Queen to bring about the reign of Christ the King. Pius XI instituted this feast in 1925 to combat those forces which had been long working in society to dethrone Christ, to reject his Empire over all nations, to reject the right which the Church has from Christ Himself to teach mankind to make laws, to govern peoples in all that pertains to their eternal salvation.
For 200 years, the Church has condemned in unequivocal terms the rise of Liberalism. Liberalism maintains that the best constitution of public society – and also civil progress altogether – require that human society be conducted and governed without regard being had to religion anymore than if it did not exist or at least without any distinction being made between the True Religion and false ones.
Satan’s Plan
These societies, growing in number and influence in the last few hundred years, are the product of the long plan of Satan to turn God’s creation against Him. Under the form of a serpent, Satan tempted Eve, and Adam through Eve, to reject God’s order, to see God’s kingly authority as malicious and oppressive. Satan told Eve that there is a ‘secret knowledge’ which, if possessed, would enable man to become God. To attain this, all they had to do was ignore God’s authority and dominion. They would not die: that was just an empty threat, a scare tactic. God’s power was theirs for the taking.
Over the centuries, in different ways, Satan has inspired Gnostic cults in exactly the same way. This was the project of the alchemists and their heirs.
The Great Work
In our day, it is the Freemasons and others like them. They call this project the ‘Great Work’: the complete liberation of man from God. Man’s total self-creation, self-direction, self salvation.
Like the Alchemists, Masons do not believe in a God above but a god below, that there is a primal elemental power that exists in all matter, which is the source of all life and development, that this power can be studied and then controlled. They work to remove God from history, science and society. They rewrite the history books to depict man’s supposed ‘progress’ from the dark ages of religious belief to his liberation through modern science – modern Gnosticism.
They believe in evolution unquestioningly and teach it with religious fervour. It is their form of Genesis. No God above created man, rather it was this elemental Force which ordered itself, raised itself up to greater and greater perfection. Now it’s ready for man to take the wheel, to recreate himself through eugenics, genetic manipulation, augmentation.
This for them is how man is born again. They believe in science. Education should not be artistic or intellectual, developing the higher powers of man’s soul. Only modern science is real knowledge; useful in helping us better understand and then manipulate that elemental Force which pervades all things. The higher in man – his intellect – must be made to serve the lower. So you would expect that any society created and sustained on these Masonic principles would produce great technological wonders, would take lightning out of the hands of the gods and use it to do what unenlightened people would have once called sorcery.
The ultimate end of this great work is eternal life, not granted by some God outside of nature but given from man to himself through medical science. So you would expect that a society created and sustained by these principles would devote itself to a medical industry even if such a great industry were not practically necessary to remedy all the ailments which afflict those who live a self-indulgent life pursuing this-worldly pleasures.
Now they are not entirely wrong. The forces of nature can be studied understood and governed to improve the material life of man. Just because the Masonic culture produces is a supposed all- knowing internet which exercises its own kind of Providence, this does not make it wrong to use your cell phones for directions to get where you’re going.
Catholic Culture
Catholic cultures took their pattern from God’s government: monarchy and aristocracy. They taught that history was a constant battle for souls between God and Satan; that man’s progress matched exactly how well he and his society conformed to Christ and his Church; that the higher must always direct the lower. So we should not be surprised that these societies were less developed technologically because they were not hellbent on making this world into a paradise.
The modern Masonic State neglects man’s higher faculties and great psychological disorders follow, which of course, it tries to cure through more of the same science. Catholic cultures were not so materially prosperous because they were prospering in spiritual ways, in moral living, in studying what God has revealed. So they produced inspiring and uplifting artwork, architecture and the greatest minds of philosophy and spirituality that the world has ever known – all of which the Masonic state is incapable of producing.
If you don’t understand God or the human soul correctly, you won’t know where man’s true happiness lies and so no matter how hard you pursue happiness according to false principles, you will never find it. Rather, great spiritual misery and social disorder can be the only result. Thus, Pius XI states that this rebellion of individuals and States against the authority of Christ has produced deplorable consequences; namely insatiable greed, a blind and immoderate selfishness making men seek nothing but their own comfort and advantage, and measure everything by these. No peace in the home because men have forgotten or neglect their duty; the unity and the stability of the family undermined. Society, in a word, shaken to its foundations and on the way to ruin.
Secular State
Both Liberals and Communists propose a secular state governed from below with no use for God. The only difference is that while Communists promised an earthly Paradise, Liberals are much better at seeming to deliver it. Both of them are deadly opposed to the Reign of Christ the King, to any form of monarchy, of rule from above. They both promise to liberate man from this ‘fictional dictator’ and they both end up only enslaving man to sin and the devil. Both produce a more tyrannical overreaching government than any ever to be found in Christendom.
Freedom of Religion
“Surely it is not I, Lord!” says the Americanist. “Surely, all these condemnations of liberalism only apply to the French Revolution not at all to our American state? Wasn’t freedom of religion better for the Church?”
More cunning than their Communist counterparts, American Masons knew that direct persecution would be less effective at destroying the Church than cultivating indifferentism; permitting all religions and treating them all as equally unimportant. The alchemical symbol for the beginning of the Great Work is the green dragon, and so it was in the Green Dragon pub that America’s foundations were crafted in part. Particularly by Benjamin Franklin who, more than anyone else, spread his Masonic beliefs throughout society by his publications, his great scientific genius and a tremendous political influence.
The other founders were also Masons or participated in Masonic ceremonies, including Charles Carroll, [a Catholic – Ed.] nor did it cease with them and time does not permit us to list everything. But, for example Truman, a 33rd degree Mason, used the elemental energy of the atom to massacre Catholics in the first Japanese city to outlaw Freemasonry. The Mason Roosevelt gave us the Masonic ‘New Deal’ with a Masonic symbol on the dollar bill proclaiming the Novus Ordo and of course, the Mason Hoover blessed us with the FBI.
At the beginning of the Bible, as at the end, there is a conflict between a woman and a serpent. In the Apocalypse, the woman is the Queen of Heaven clothed with the Sun, the moon at her feet, wearing a crown of twelve stars while her Son is to rule all nations with an iron rod from the Throne of God. Their adversary is a red dragon – the devil who seduceth the whole world and who was angry against the woman, and went to make war with the rest of her seed who keep the Commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
It is no coincidence that the symbol of the alchemists for the completion of the Great Work is the red dragon. Pius XI called for Catholics to enter into this warfare and retake society for Christ. To fight courageously under his banner with apostolic zeal, and valiantly defend his rights. But how best do we do this? The answer is in Genesis.
The Serpent
At the genesis of America, from the Green Dragon pub, Franklin represented the 13 colonies in the form of a disjointed serpent with the warning ‘Join or Die’, which should remind us of the devil’s false promise to Eve. Later this became a flag with a serpent which says ‘don’t tread on me’. Could it be any more obviously satanic?
God punished the serpent in Genesis by making it the lowest of the creatures, aptly representing that material fluidic Force the Alchemists and the Masons worship. And he cursed it saying, “I will put enmities between thee and the Woman, and thy seed and Her seed. She shall crush thy head and thou shalt lie in wait for Her heal.”
Now some read here, especially the Protestants who would like Christ to be King without a Queen, who would like to cut Mary out of the Bible, just as much as they have cut Her out of their own Hearts. Now, it is Christ’s power alone which crushes satan but the means that He chose to do so was Mary.
We have another reason, though, to follow St Jerome and read, “She shall crush thy head.” For only three women are called blessed among women in the Bible. Jael, who drove a tent spike through the head of Sisera, the leader of the enemy army. Judith, who cut off the head of Holofernes, the leader of the enemy army in her day. And then our Blessed Mother Mary. These Old Testament women are figures of Mary, which means that She must crush the head of a far greater enemy.
St Louis Marie De Montfort writes,
“The humble Mary will always have the victory over that proud spirit and so great a victory, that She will go will go to the length of crushing his head where his pride dwells. She will always discover the malice of the serpent. She will always counterwork his infernal minds and dissipate his diabolical counsels, and will guarantee even to the end of time, Her faithful servants from his cruel claw.
But the power of Mary over all the Devils will especially break out in the latter times, when Satan will lay his snares against her heel; that is to say, Her humble slaves and her poor children whom She will raise up to make war against him. They shall be little and poor in the world’s esteem and abased before all, like the heel trod underfoot and persecuted as the heel is by the other members of the body. But in return for this, they shall be rich in the grace of God which Mary shall distribute to them abundantly.
They shall be great and exalted before God in sanctity, superior to all other creatures by their animated zeal and leaning so strongly on the Divine succor that with the humility of their heal, in union with Mary, they shall crush the head of the devil and thus cause Jesus Christ to triumph.
To restore the reign of Christ the King, to make the world subject to Christ, we must be devoted servants – slaves – of his Queen, Mary.
We must be more than her slaves: we must cling to Her as Her most devoted children and we must be soldiers in her Legion. The handbook for this very Legion of Mary confidently predicts: in the measure that it makes Her more and more its Mother, is the Legion’s enmity with the powers of evil intensified, and the Victory made more complete.
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost. Amen.”
Most of the information in this article comes from a fascinating book, ‘Pope Leo XIII and the Prayer to St. Michael’. The book looks at various accounts of the origin of the prayer as well as its significance.
Pope Leo XIII famously composed the prayer to St. Michael after seeing a vision in which God gave the devil permission to have free reign over the earth from the mid-twentieth century. The date of that apparition is traditionally given as October 13, 1884 – coincidentally, that is exactly 140 years ago today. This date is significant for several reasons, none of which should be a surprise to my readers. October 13, as well as being the anniversary of Leo’s apparition, it is the date of the miracle of the sun at Fatima (1917) and of the final apparition of Our Lady at Akita (1973).
Some sources believe that Leo’s decision to write the prayer coincided with his increasing concern over the influence of Freemasonry on the Catholic Church. His predecessor, Pius IX, had ordered a set of prayers to be prayed by priest and faithful after Low Mass for the protection of the Church. Leo inserted the prayer to St. Michael into that set of prayers – a practise which continues today in traditional parishes – requesting this from his priests in his classic encyclical against Freemasonry, Humanem Genus.
Leo issued continued warnings to his priests to be increasingly vigilant with regard to dangers both within and without the Church. As well as the St. Michael prayer, Leo composed an exorcism prayer just for priests which is based on the St. Michael prayer as well as a longer version of the St. Michael prayer to be used by the laity.

Leo’s strong condemnations of Masonry drew the ire of the secret societies against him. In particularly egregious incident, the Masons erected a statue of an infamous heretic in Rome. The heretic, Giordano Bruno had been condemned and executed under the Inquisition in 1600.
Bruno was a hero to the Freemasons and other subversive groups and the statue’s sculptor went on to become the Grand Master of the Grand Orient lodge of Italy. By erecting Bruno’s statue, the Masons were in effect thumbing their noses at Pope Leo. Leo’s response was to release another encyclical, Dall’alto dell’Apostolico Seggio, condemning the Freemason’s act. The date of issue was October 15, 1890, just two days after the mysterious and highly significant date of October 13th.
[As an aside, Giordano Bruno was posthumously rehabilitated by the highly suspect Cardinal Angelo Sodano in the year 2000! As another aside, and this is very strange: St. Michael is a saint who is perversely venerated by the Masons, who think of him as the ‘planetary angel of the sun.’]
One reason why Pius and Leo sought to engage extra help from the archangels can be found in the records of exorcists. During exorcisms performed after their pontificates, demons admitted that there had been ‘unusually numerous and strong invasions by diabolical spirits on the earth’ during Pius’ pontificate. One exorcist wrote:
In their battle against the Church, the demons use the wicked people as their allies. They have succeeded in enlisting a large number of people under their banner.
“We have the will of the people on our side,” they say.
The demon ‘Caesar’ leads their forces to stir up governments against the Church. “The people are our trusty storm troops”, he stated.
The Masons are among the main supporters of the demons. Lucifer admits that they are his ‘dearly beloved children’ and calls them his ‘representatives on earth.’
The exorcist continued:
Once they are defeated, the time will come when the members of the secret societies will be humiliated. The Virgin will destroy the secret societies. She has already set herself against them.
So we can see that before Modernism infiltrated the Church, Freemasonry was identified as being Her fundamental enemy, leading Pius to institute extra prayers after Mass for the protection of the Church and leading Leo to compose some very powerful new prayers invoking the great St. Michael.

Fr. Eustace Eilers (1902-1957) was a Passionist priest from Alabama who was well-known for his stance against Freemasonry. During the papacy of Pius XII, Eilers was part of a network of priests who were concerned about an infiltration by Illuminati members into the Vatican. This group began an investigation spanning Rome and the US, focusing particularly on certain men close to the Pontiff, who, as Piers Compton wrote in The Broken Cross, ‘surrounded the Pope so closely that he was spoken of, half humorously, as being their prisoner.’
Compton continued, “That the hand of the illuminati was certainly involved became clearer when Fr. Eilers, who announced that he was publishing those facts, was suddenly found dead, presumably one of those sudden heart attacks that, when dealing with secret societies, so often precede promised revelations.”
This background on Fr. Eilers is by way of lending credibility to the following extract from the book, The Mystery of Freemasonry Unveiled. That book was written by Cardinal Caro Y Rodriguez of Chile in 1925 and was highly recommended by Fr. Eilers. It contains much revealing information about the Craft. Cardinal Rodriguez explained that 99% of Masons have no idea about who controls their Brotherhood, and that it is in fact the Illuminati who are at the top.
As evidence, Cardinal Rodriguez quotes from a letter written by Albert Pike to Guissepi Mazzini on August 15, 1871 (note the Marian feast-day.) Mazzini was said to have carried on the work of Adam Weishaupt, founder of the Illuminati:
“The First World War must be brought about in order to permit the Illuminati to overthrow the power of the Czars in Russia and of making that country a fortress of atheistic Communism. The divergences caused by the “agentur” (agents) of the Illuminati between the British and Germanic Empires will be used to foment this war. At the end of the war, Communism will be built and used in order to destroy the other governments and in order to weaken the religions.”
“The Second World War must be fomented by taking advantage of the differences between the Fascists and the political Zionists. This war must be brought about so that Nazism is destroyed and that the political Zionism be strong enough to institute a sovereign state of Israel in Palestine. During the Second World War, International Communism must become strong enough in order to balance Christendom, which would be then restrained and held in check until the time when we would need it for the final social cataclysm.”
“The Third World War must be fomented by taking advantage of the differences caused by the “agentur” of the “Illuminati” between the political Zionists and the leaders of the Islamic World. The war must be conducted in such a way that Islam (the Moslem Arabic World) and political Zionism (the State of Israel) mutually destroy each other. Meanwhile the other nations, once more divided on this issue will be constrained to fight to the point of complete physical, moral, spiritual and economical exhaustion…We shall unleash the Nihilists and the atheists, and we shall provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to the nations the effect of absolute atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil. Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity, whose deistic spirits will from that moment be without compass or direction…will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view. This manifestation will result from the general reactionary movement which will follow the destruction of Christianity and atheism, both conquered and exterminated at the same time.”
As can be seen, not only were the wars planned by the Masons, but so was Communism, the State of Israel, the Great Apostasy, and the rise of Luciferianism. Of course, we do know that the conspirators will never attain their ultimate goal, that of enthroning Satan and eliminating God from the mind of men. However, it is quite horrific to see how close they are to attaining their goal and what the cost has been – and will be – in terms of human lives and souls.
NOTE regarding the use of the word ‘Nazism’ in the plan for the Second World War. Having had a look at the origins of the word, it is clear that it was in usage in parts of Europe in Albert Pike’s time, where it meant ‘national’ or alternatively referred to ‘ignorant locals’. Since Hitler’s National Socialist party had not been established in 1870, it is likely that Pike planned to use an orchestrated world war to, among other goals, rid Europe of any form of nationalist and patriotic movements.
It’s almost Synod time again: the second session is only weeks away, and the Vatican propaganda machine is letting us know what to expect. As usual, the agenda is full of Masonic mumbo-jumbo which will unfortunately be responsible for aiding and abetting many of the faithful on their path to Hell.
The Synod will begin with a ‘penitential liturgy’ which will include testimonies from three people (it is unclear whether or not these people are Catholic) and which will be geared towards young people. The first speaker is to be a victim of abuse; the second a victim of war and the third is a victim of ‘indifference to migrants’. This will be followed by a sort of general confession of ‘sins’ in which we have all apparently taken part.
Here are the sins – there are notably EIGHT of them: (is some kind of one-upmanship at play here?)
sins against peace
sins against creation
sins against Indigenous populations and migrants
sins of abuse
sins against women, family and youth
the sin of ‘using doctrine as a stone to be hurled’
sins against poverty
sins against synodality – the lack of listening and communion.
The inclusion of ‘sins against synodality’ continues to make the Church into a laughing-stock. Any respect She had left in the eyes of the world after decades of abuse scandals and cringey aggioramento has dissolved under the watch of Pope Bergoglio.
As can be seen, the greatest human rights abuse of all time, abortion, is not included – even though Bergoglio has said it is ‘just as bad‘ as sins against migrants. Of course, Bergoglio is no stranger to hypocrisy; even as he decries sins of abuse, he continues to harbour sex offenders within the very heart of the Church and to gaslight the faithful as an abusive father of the very lowest kind.
This information came from a press conference, and according to the Secretary-General of the Synod, Cardinal Mario Gresch, the Catholic Church is in a ‘dynamic of conversion.’ (Pretty accurate if he means conversion from the True Church to the Ape of the Church.)
In a specious snippet of predictive programming, Gresch reminded the world that the Pope has said, ” the main protagonist of the Synod is the Holy Spirit.” Easy to claim, not so easy to prove.
The relator-general of the synod, Cardinal Jean-Claude Hollerich, told the Vatical press conference that the number of official non-Catholic attendees will increase due to ‘the great interest that the sister churches’ have in the Synod. Who exactly are these ‘sister churches’? How is it possible for the Catholic Church, one True Church, to have ‘Sisters”? Does he not mean heretical churches? Sects? Idolators?
Additionally, it was announced that the Synod will be attended by two bishops from China; this is presumably an attempt to legitimise the disastrous Sino-Vatican deal.
The Synod will be preceded by a two-day retreat with the sodo-cleric, Timothy Radcliffe and Benedictine Mother Ignazia Angelini. Mother Angelini’s community is part of the worldwide Subiaco Cassinese Congregation. The Australian monastery of this Congregation is at New Norcia in Western Australia and is a notorious haunt for LGBTI Catholics. As can be seen in the image below, Mother Angelini has a link with Bergoglio’s patrons, the St. Gallen Mafia.

The retreat begins on October 1st and the Synod proper begins on October 3rd, which according to this occult ritual calendar, are Satanic high-days. Coincidence? I think not.
Another Masonic-inspired event during the Synod will be the ecumenical prayer-meeting on October 11th (the 62nd anniversary of the opening of the Second Vatican Council.) It looks as though everything is gearing up for another diabolical Assisi event. The Synod will finish at the end of October, just as occultists are preparing for their great feast of Halloween.
In order to make a direct connection between the Synod and Freemasonry, one need look no further than theAlta Vendita – that Masonic blueprint set down around 150 years ago and which was published for the faithful by Popes Pius IX and Leo XIII.
In planning the infiltration of the Catholic Church (for that is the precise strategy found in the Alta Vendita) the document tells Masonic adherents to “Leave old people and those of a mature age aside; go to the youth, and if it is possible, even to the children… ” This is EXACTLY what Bergoglio and his cronies have said they are planning for the Synod – and what they have in fact been up to for years.
The Masons knew that by gradually descralizing the culture, they would eventually end up with a Pope “according to their needs”; one who would be “more or less imbued with the [revolutionary] Italian and humanitarian principles that we are going to begin to put into circulation…”
The Alta Vendita advises “You wish to establish the reign of the chosen ones on the throne of the prostitute of Babylon; let the clergy march under your standard, always believing that they are marching under the banner of the Apostolic keys…. lay your snares …. in the sacristies, the seminaries and the monasteries rather than at the bottom of the sea…”
Is this not precisely what we see with the upcoming Synod: homosexualist leaders who are infecting seminaries and monasteries with their perverse doctrines; attempts at revising the education of priests; and weak bishops who believe they are promoting the rights of God even as they remain silent in the face of apostasy?
Is Cardinal Gresch’s “dynamic of conversion” anything other that the total revolution called for by the authors of the Alta Vendita?
Prophecy is being fulfilled before our very eyes. The reigning Pontiff is proceeding to play his part in the globalist coup as warned by Our Lady at La Salette:
All the civil governments will have one and the same plan, which will be to abolish and do away with every religious principle, to make way for materialism, atheism, spiritualism and vice of all kinds.

Finally, and perhaps the most bizarre story of all, John is said to have spoken with an alien at Castelgandalfo in 1961. His longtime secretary, Cardinal Loris Capovilla, also claimed to have witnessed the meeting.
The story was first published in an Argentinian online news service in 2014, (and later shared at Tradition in Action here) and the author was a ‘psychic’ named Luis Sartori.
Sartori was related to Capovilla, who was the first cousin of his maternal grandmother. Sartori claimed he had a written testimony from his relative who wrote that the incident took place when he and Pope John were walking in the gardens of Castelgondolfo, the papal holiday residence, in July 1961.
Capovilla wrote that they saw “a craft above our heads. It was oval and had flashing blue and amber lights.” The craft set down “on the grass on the south side of the garden. A strange being emerged from it: it looked like a human except that it was surrounded by a golden light and had elongated ears. His Holiness and I knelt down. We didn’t know what we were seeing, but we knew it was not of this world, so it must have been a heavenly event.
“We prayed and when we raised our heads, the being was still there. That was proof that we had not had a vision. The Holy Father stood up and walked toward the being. The two of them talked for about 20 minutes. They did not call me, so I stayed where I was and could not hear anything they said. Finally the being turned around, walked toward the ship and left.”
“His Holiness returned and told me that the children of God are everywhere; sometimes we have difficulty recognizing our own brothers.”
Sartori concluded by writing that “…. the Church accepts the existence of extraterrestrials and has even set up, together with NASA, in some very secret place, some kind of secret research center to follow the movements of these beings and their ships night and day.”
Sartori adds some interesting commentary; namely that, Pope Roncalli had regular communications with Our Lord and the Blessed Virgin Mary and that this has been common knowledge since 1959. According to Sartori, the heavenly apparitions gave John prophecies about the future. Curiously, this lines up with the statements made by Carpi in his book, although it is always possible that this claim originated with Carpi himself.
The entire incident including Capovilla’s testimony is exceedingly strange and its veracity is let down by several weak links in the chain of information. Yet, it is significant that so many equally bizarre stories swirl around the figure of Pope John. Also significant is the theory that alien communications are in fact manifestations of the demonic. If it is true that John was involved in the occult, then direct communication with demons is hardly surprising. That a demon would disguise itself as an alien when meeting with men who fully believed in extra-terrestrial creatures is also unsurprising.
It brings to mind comments made by Constance Cumbey, an evangelical Protestant lawyer, in her 1983 book, Hidden Dancers of the Rainbow. In it, she wrote:
“If there has been a single Catholic Pope who permitted the New Ager’s plan to take root within the Roman Catholic Church, it was Pope John XXIII, who is spoken of reverentially by New Agers and ‘Catholic’ modernists.” (p. 160.)
